These two bands, who have just put out new albums, are among the most well-known American indie rock acts of the last several years. First Two Pages of Frankenstein and Laugh Track are two new albums by The National that were released last year. Numerous best of year-end lists featured both the band and the records.
The National released the two albums Laugh Track and First Two Pages of Frankenstein in 2023. On February 24, the band returned to the road for First Two Pages of Frankenstein, starting in Auckland, New Zealand. They plan to continue their global tour through the summer. The War on Drugs, meantime, will perform at a number of festivals in the spring and summer, starting on April 4–8, 2024, in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico, during My Morning Jacket's One Big Holiday. This winter, Lucius has been touring in support of their 2014 album Wildewoman. They will shortly embark on a tour with Dawes, with their first performance set for March 8 at Charlottesville, Virginia's Jefferson Theater.
The National and The War on Drugs said on Instagram - "We're thrilled to join forces for the Zen Diagram Tour this fall!"
The National most recently released two albums in 2023 - "First Two Pages of Frankenstein" in the spring and the unexpected release "Laugh Track" in September. The band has five Top 10 albums under their belt and earned a Grammy for Best Alternative Album in 2017 for "Sleep Well Beast."
The War On Drugs' most recent studio album, "I Don't Live Here Anymore," was well received when it was released in 2021. The band's fourth album, "A Deeper Understanding," won a Grammy for Best Rock Album in 2018.
Lucius is a four-piece indie pop band based in America. Leading vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig formed the band in 2007; additional members include drummer Dan Molad, guitarist Peter Lalish, and erstwhile multi-instrumentalist Andrew Burri. Originally from Brooklyn, the band moved to Los Angeles in 2015.
