ABOUT THE B-52’s

The B-52’s mae incredible history for their first ever single, “Rock Lobster,” went to number 1 in Canada and made it into the Billboard Hot 100. Emerging in 1976, the band became a chart topping phenom in less than five years. Their self titled debut album sold millions of copies worldwide and earned several platinum certifications in various countries. Their incredible succes continued with their subsequent releases. In 1989, the band dropped their best selling album of their career, Cosmic Thing. The effort sold over four million copies in the U.S. and charted at number 4, their highest ever on the Billboard 200. Their three decade career has resulted in seven studio albums, all entering the Billboard charts, and sold 20 millions albums worldwide.

ABOUT DEVO

The quirky new wave band from Ohio was not just all about gimmick. Even with great visual presentation, the band had made sure to create a new wave sound that was spot on for most listeners. The band rose to stardom in 1978 upon the release of their debut album Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! The band matched their incredible music with a deadpan humor that had endeared many listeners. The lead single, “Jocko Homo,” was a hit everywhere. In 1980, Devo gained international recognition when their single “Whip It,” from their third album Freedom of Choice was released. Devo continued to chart all the way to the 2000s. Their latest album Something For Everybody was released in 2010, 20 years after releasing their previous album Smooth Noodle Maps.
