Dierks Bentley had his first breakthrough when he dropped his sophomore album, Modern Day Drifter. The record peaked at number 1 on the Billboard US Top Country Albums chart and number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album’s three singles, “Lot of Leavin’ Left to Do,” “Come a Little Closer,” and “Settle for a Slowdown,” also entered the top 3 in the Hot Country Songs chart. Thanks to the album's phenomenal success in the charts, it was later certified platinum in the United States and certified gold in Canada.
After the success of his second album, most of Bentley’s subsequent albums charted at number 1 on the Hot Country Albums chart and entered the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart. His 2009 album, Feel That Fire, notably peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, while the record’s singles, “Feel That Fire” and “Sideways,” became number 1 hits on the Hot Country Songs charts. The album and both singles were later certified Gold in the U.S. Moreover, the same level of success fell upon Bentley’s 2016 and 2018 albums. Black peaked at number 1 on the Hot Country Albums and number 2 on the Billboard 200 charts, while The Mountain peaked at number 1 and 3 on the said charts.
Aside from topping the charts, Bentley has received numerous accolades, including 14 Grammy Award nominations, three Country Music Association Awards, a CMT Music Award, an Academy of Country Music Award, and many more.
