Pop icon Rod Stewart is embarking on a US tour with fellow pop hero Cyndi Lauper this summer, and they’re heading to Xfinity Center on Saturday 15th July 2017, for what will be one hell of a show!
“Stewart and Lauper have been awarded nearly every industry award and honor for their incomparable catalog of hits and activism, among them Grammy and American Music Awards, two inductions into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the ASCAP Founders Award for songwriting and a knighthood for Stewart; and an Emmy and Tony Award for Lauper,” a press release noted.
British rock singer and songwriter Rod Stewart OBE began his career in the late 1960s and the early 1970s, rising to prominence with The Jeff Beck Group, and then with Faces. With a solo career that began in 1964, Stewart is now one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold over 100 million records worldwide. Stewart has had six consecutive number one albums in the UK, and of 62 UK hit singles, 31 reached the top ten and six reached number one. In the US, Stewart has had 16 top ten singles, with four reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. He was ranked 17th most successful artist on the “Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists” by Billboard Magazine in 2008. A recipient of both Grammy and Brit Awards, he was voted at #33 in Q Magazine’s list of the Top 100 Greatest Singers of all time, and #59 on Rolling Stone 100 Greatest Singers of all time. Stewart was inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006 as a solo artist, and was inducted a second time into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 as a member of Faces.
